This Vanadinite specimen hails from Mibladen, Morocco, one of the most celebrated vanadinite localities in the world. The crystals are hexagonal in form, tightly packed and perfectly aligned on a single crystalline plane, giving the overall cluster the appearance of an opening flower petal — a distinctive and visually striking growth pattern rather than the more common scattered or radiating aggregates typical of the district.

The color is a deep, saturated blood-red, with lustrous faces that catch and reflect light beautifully, enhancing the three-dimensional texture of the crystal plate. The contrast between the sharp geometry of the hexagonal prisms and the soft, petal-like overall silhouette gives the piece an elegant, almost sculptural quality that makes it equally suited to a mineralogical collection or a refined display setting.

The Mibladen mining district, located near Midelt in central Morocco, has been closed to industrial extraction since the 1970s. Vanadinite specimens now reach the market through small-scale, hand-dug private prospecting carried out by local diggers working old workings and shallow shafts, which makes fine, well-formed pieces like this one increasingly harder to source.
