This natural Aragonite specimen comes from the Tazouta diggings, near Sefrou, in the Fès-Meknès Region of Morocco — one of the most famous and prolific sources of star-twinned aragonite in the world. Despite being widely known on old labels as the 'Tazouta Mine', this locality is actually an open-air outcrop within clay-rich sediments where specimens are dug by hand, rather than a true underground mine.

The piece displays the locality's signature crystal habit: elongated, prismatic crystals joined through repeated cyclic twinning, producing a pseudo-hexagonal, star-like arrangement radiating symmetrically outward from a central point in a tuft-shaped formation. Each individual crystal shows well-defined faces and edges, contributing to the overall three-dimensional, sculptural appearance of the cluster.

The warm orange-brown coloration typical of this locality is a further distinguishing feature, giving the specimen a vivid, sun-baked tone that contrasts beautifully with the crystal's vitreous luster.
