This is a fully natural, untreated specimen of Aragonite from the famous Tazouta locality, Sefrou Cercle, Fès-Meknès Region, Morocco — one of the most iconic sources worldwide for aragonite crystal groups. The piece displays the classic pseudohexagonal prismatic crystals typical of this deposit, arranged in a distinctive globular, star-shaped cluster that collectors often nickname a 'sputnik' formation for its resemblance to a satellite bristling with antennae.

Each apparent hexagonal prism is in fact a cyclic twin, formed by three individual orthorhombic crystals intergrown on their prism faces, radiating outward from shared growth centers to produce the pseudo six-sided symmetry and the radial, star-like habit seen here. The crystal faces are glossy and crisply defined, with the aggregate built up in a compact globular mass rather than growing on a rock matrix.

The warm brown-orange coloration is characteristic of Tazouta aragonite, and the crystals show good luster across their terminated faces, enhancing the three-dimensional, radiating structure of the cluster.
