The intense golden yellow color of the Fluorite is not caused by a structural chromophore element but by organic and hydrocarbon impurities trapped within the crystal lattice during its formation in Permo-Triassic sedimentary rocks — the same impurities responsible for the specimen's reaction under ultraviolet light.
