This is a striking Scheelite specimen from one of the most celebrated mineral localities in China. The crystal displays an intense, richly saturated honey-orange color, glowing with a warm, almost gem-like tone that gives the piece exceptional visual depth and elegance. The surface shows a strong vitreous luster, allowing light to play across the crystal faces and highlight their internal clarity.

The Scheelite crystal shows sharp, well-formed faces typical of the pseudo-octahedral habit for which this locality is famous, combining dipyramidal forms with flat pinacoidal faces into a geometrically striking crystal. This crisp, well-defined crystallography is a hallmark of top Xuebaoding specimens and allows collectors to fully appreciate the symmetry and precision of the crystal growth. The Scheelite rests directly on a glassy quartz matrix, and the juxtaposition between the warm, saturated color of the tungstate crystal and the cool brilliance of the quartz base creates a beautiful visual contrast that enhances the overall composition of the piece.

Mount Xuebaoding, near the town of Huya in Pingwu County, Sichuan Province, is considered by mineral collectors and dealers worldwide to be the single most important locality for gem-quality Scheelite, having produced specimens that set the aesthetic standard for the species since material first reached Western markets in the early 1990s. The deposit is a quartz vein-type tungsten-tin-beryllium system, hosted within schists and marble, which also produces fine Beryl, Cassiterite, and Muscovite. With a total specimen size of 60 x 43 x 30 mm and a main crystal measuring approximately 4.4 cm, this piece represents a substantial and visually powerful example from this world-class locality.
