This specimen presents a dense group of intense green Actinolite crystals, elongated and bladed in habit, growing in a striking criss-crossed and radiating arrangement across the surface of the matrix. The crystals are evenly spread over the host rock, giving the piece a balanced, harmonious composition that enhances both its aesthetic appeal and its display value.

The crossed growth pattern seen here is typical of the classic 'Strahlstein' habit historically used to describe radiating actinolite groups, where slender bladed individuals intersect one another rather than growing as isolated single crystals. This kind of intergrowth adds visual depth and a dynamic, textured surface to the piece.

The specimen comes from Vizze Pass, a high mountain pass in the Zillertal Alps on the border between South Tyrol, Italy, and Tyrol, Austria, near San Giacomo in the Val di Vizze. This is a classic and much appreciated Alpine locality for actinolite, where the mineral develops along narrow talc-rich rims at the margins of small serpentinite bodies, a setting that limits the amount of good quality material recovered from the area and adds to the piece's mineralogical importance.
