CALCITE & HEMATITE – Pagoda-Style Crystals, Fengjiashan Mine, China
A completely natural and genuinely rare calcite specimen displaying the classic "pagoda" or "mushroom" growth habit typical of the Fengjiashan Mine: a second generation of highly lustrous scalenohedral calcite that grew over and enveloped an earlier scalenohedron, creating a striking tiered, tree-like architecture. The overgrowth is richly colored by brick-red hematite inclusions that contrast beautifully against the translucent to colorless calcite, while sharp, well-formed crystal faces catch the light with exceptional brilliance. A refined, high-end aesthetic piece equally suited to a serious mineral collection or an elegant display.
