This is an outstanding, completely natural Mimetite specimen from the world-famous Thai locality traded under the name 'Hat Yai' — one of the classic mimetite occurrences known to collectors worldwide. The piece is covered with numerous well-developed yellow crystals showing excellent transparency, allowing the observer to appreciate the sharp, resinous-to-adamantine crystal faces and the hexagonal, short-prismatic to barrel-shaped habit typical of the species.

The crystals grew naturally in a tight, aesthetic association that gives the specimen a scenographic, almost sculptural presence — the kind of crystal formation and vivid color saturation that made this Thai find so celebrated among mimetite specimens when it first appeared on the international market. The bright, saturated yellow tone contrasts beautifully with the matrix, enhancing the three-dimensional depth of the crystal formation.

The material comes from the Guatomo Mine, an abandoned lead-tin open pit near the village of Tham Thalu in Yala Province, southern Thailand, historically sold under the trade name 'Hat Yai' to protect the confidentiality of the original find. The deposit was worked for fine mineral specimens only briefly, between 1996 and 1998, and has been depleted and abandoned ever since — meaning all material from this locality, including this piece, is old stock and can no longer be freshly collected, adding further rarity and long-term collector interest to this specimen.

A genuine piece of natural art, perfect for enriching a systematic or aesthetic mineral collection, or for elevating the decor of an exclusive interior space.
