This is a superb, fully natural specimen of hematoid quartz from Tinejdad, in the Errachidia Province of Morocco's Drâa-Tafilalet Region — a locality renowned among collectors for producing some of the finest deep red quartz on the market. The piece shows a well-developed group of intergrown crystals, each with the classic steep pyramidal terminations typical of this locality, where prism faces are minimal or absent and the crystals appear tightly clustered yet individually well-defined.

The quartz is thoroughly permeated by hematite (and possibly associated goethite) inclusions, giving the specimen its intense, blood-red to brick-red coloration throughout the crystal body rather than as a mere surface coating. This heavy, uniform saturation of color is what distinguishes true hematoid quartz from simple iron-stained varieties, and it produces the warm, glowing, almost velvety visual effect that makes this material so sought after for both scientific collections and decorative display.

Specimens from this Moroccan locality typically form within semi-spherical, geode-like vugs that are broken open during extraction, a process that yields naturally clustered growths rather than crystals seated on a separate host matrix.
