Natural Quartz specimen from the alpine region of Val Russein in Disentis, Surselva, Grisons, Switzerland. The crystal shows well-developed faces with excellent natural formation and internal green inclusions of Chlorite and clay minerals.

The specimen presents a subtle smoky tone combined with vibrant green internal structures, creating a strong aesthetic contrast within the crystal. These inclusions formed during the growth of the quartz in hydrothermal alpine environments rich in mineral fluids.

Quartz with Chlorite inclusions is highly appreciated by collectors for its visual depth, natural patterns, and geological interest.

Quartz is a silicate mineral composed of silicon dioxide with the chemical formula SiO₂. It belongs to the tectosilicate group and is one of the most abundant minerals in the Earth’s crust.

Chlorite is a group of phyllosilicate minerals commonly formed in low-grade metamorphic environments. Clay minerals are fine-grained hydrous aluminum silicates formed by weathering processes.

  • Chemical formula: SiO₂
  • Mineral class: Silicates
  • Crystal system: Trigonal
  • Formation: Hydrothermal and metamorphic environments with fluid-rich conditions allowing mineral inclusions during crystal growth
  • Key elements: Silicon (Si), Oxygen (O), Aluminum (Al), Magnesium (Mg), Iron (Fe), Hydrogen (H)

Quartz crystals with Chlorite inclusions are often formed in alpine fissures where slow crystal growth allows other minerals to be trapped inside. These inclusions create natural internal landscapes that are highly valued by collectors. Alpine quartz from Switzerland is known for its clarity and complex internal structures formed over long geological periods.

Quartz with Chlorite inclusions is traditionally associated with cleansing and energetic renewal. It is often considered a stone that combines the amplifying properties of Quartz with the grounding qualities of Chlorite. In crystal healing traditions, it is believed to help release emotional blockages, support inner balance, and promote mental clarity. It is also used symbolically for personal growth and transformation. This specimen is appreciated mainly for its natural beauty and geological formation.
