Exceptional natural Hematoid Quartz from Tinejdad, Errachidia Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco. This remarkable specimen is distinguished by a magnificent main crystal measuring approximately 7.5 cm, surrounded by a harmonious cluster of naturally formed quartz crystals. The vivid red coloration produced by hematite inclusions gives the specimen exceptional depth and visual impact while preserving excellent transparency and brilliant luster. The three-dimensional crystal arrangement enhances the beauty of the specimen, making it a highly desirable collector's piece. Its impressive size, aesthetic appeal and classic Moroccan provenance make it ideal for advanced mineral collections and prestigious displays.

Hematoid Quartz is a variety of Quartz composed of silicon dioxide with the chemical formula SiO₂. Its characteristic red coloration is produced by microscopic inclusions of hematite (Fe₂O₃) incorporated during crystal growth. Quartz belongs to the tectosilicate group and crystallizes in the trigonal crystal system. Hematite-bearing quartz commonly forms in hydrothermal environments where iron-rich fluids circulate through silica-bearing fractures, producing spectacular internal red, orange or reddish-brown inclusions. These inclusions make every crystal unique and highly appreciated by mineral collectors.

  • Chemical formula: SiO₂ (Quartz), Fe₂O₃ (Hematite inclusions)
  • Mineral class: Silicates (Tectosilicates)
  • Crystal system: Trigonal
  • Formation: Hydrothermal quartz veins enriched by iron-bearing fluids
  • Key elements: Silicon (Si), Oxygen (O), Iron (Fe)
  • Crystal habit: Prismatic quartz crystals with hematite inclusions
  • Color: Transparent with intense red hematite inclusions

The red color of Hematoid Quartz is not caused by the quartz itself but by microscopic hematite crystals trapped during growth. Depending on their concentration and distribution, these inclusions can create spectacular internal landscapes and natural "phantom-like" effects.

Hematoid Quartz is traditionally associated with grounding, vitality and emotional balance in crystal healing practices. It is believed to combine the amplifying properties of Quartz with the stabilizing energy traditionally attributed to Hematite. Many practitioners use it to reduce stress, improve concentration and encourage confidence during periods of change. It is also associated with motivation, emotional resilience and a balanced flow of personal energy.
