This is a fine, completely natural Hopper Quartz crystal from the Nervia Valley, near Rocchetta Nervina in the Imperia Province of Liguria, Italy — a locality well known among Italian mineral specialists for producing exactly this unusual quartz variety.

The crystal shows a good overall formation, with well-defined crystalline faces that allow the collector to fully appreciate its skeletal (hopper) growth pattern. Rather than growing as a solid, fully filled prism, the crystal developed preferentially along its edges, leaving characteristic stepped, window-like recesses on the faces — a genuinely distinctive and scientifically interesting growth habit.

The body of the crystal displays excellent transparency combined with natural clay inclusions trapped during growth, which give the piece warm, intense internal tones and create striking plays of light as the specimen is rotated. These inclusions are entirely natural and are considered a desirable, aesthetically enriching feature rather than a flaw, as they underline the authenticity and uniqueness of the piece.

Overall this is an honest, undamaged, fully natural specimen, ideal both for a serious systematic or locality mineral collection and as a striking display piece thanks to its strong visual and scenic appeal.
