Exceptional natural Hematoid Quartz from Tinejdad, Errachidia Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco. This specimen is characterized by an intense red coloration produced by hematite inclusions distributed within the quartz matrix. The combination of vivid internal coloration, natural crystal luster and well-balanced formation creates a visually striking and highly aesthetic mineral.

The specimen shows excellent structural integrity with a harmonious crystal development that enhances depth, brilliance and three-dimensional visual impact. Hematoid Quartz from Morocco is particularly appreciated by collectors for its strong coloration, natural formation and decorative appeal.

Hematoid Quartz is a variety of quartz (SiO₂) that contains inclusions of iron oxides, mainly hematite (Fe₂O₃), which are responsible for its characteristic red to orange coloration. Quartz belongs to the tectosilicate group and crystallizes in the trigonal system. Hematite inclusions form during or after quartz crystallization through hydrothermal processes rich in iron-bearing fluids. Variations in oxidation conditions and fluid chemistry determine the intensity and distribution of the red coloration within the quartz matrix.

  • Chemical formula: SiO₂ (Quartz), Fe₂O₃ (Hematite)
  • Mineral class: Silicates (Tectosilicates) + Oxides
  • Crystal system: Trigonal (Quartz)
  • Formation: Hydrothermal environments with iron-rich fluids
  • Key elements: Silicon (Si), Oxygen (O), Iron (Fe)
  • Crystal habit: Massive to well-formed quartz crystals with hematite inclusions
  • Color: White, transparent quartz with red hematite zones

The red coloration in hematoid quartz is not part of the quartz structure itself, but comes from microscopic inclusions of iron oxides trapped during crystal growth.

Hematoid Quartz is traditionally associated with grounding, vitality and emotional balance. It is often considered a stone that combines the stabilizing properties of quartz with the energizing symbolism of iron, promoting focus and inner strength.
