This fine specimen of Baryte comes from the renowned Jebel Ouichane mine, in the Guelaia Cercle of Nador Province, in the Oriental Region of Morocco — a locality celebrated among collectors for producing some of the finest bladed Baryte crystals in the world. The piece hosts numerous well-formed crystals arranged in a dense, balanced cluster, displaying an eye-catching color gradient that shifts from soft grey at the base to a warm orange toward the crystal terminations.

The crystals show the characteristic tabular, blade-like habit typical of this locality, with flat, elongated faces catching the light and creating a pleasing contrast across the specimen's surface. The overall composition is harmonious, with crystals of generous size arranged in a natural, well-balanced growth pattern that enhances both the mineralogical interest and the visual impact of the piece.

Jebel Ouichane was historically an important iron mine, exploited for magnetite, hematite and limonite during the first half of the twentieth century, and the quarry complex is now closed. Baryte specimens were intensively extracted from its walls between 2012 and 2015, and material of this quality has become increasingly difficult to find on the market since active collecting ceased.
