This aesthetic specimen showcases a group of long, elongated Amethyst crystals emerging directly from matrix, a growth habit that has made material from this Mexican locality highly sought after by mineral collectors worldwide. The crystals display an intense violet-pink coloration, richly saturated and remarkably even along their length, with glassy, well-defined prism faces that catch the light beautifully.

Particular attention should be given to the crystal terminations, which are cleanly developed and add a distinctive character to the piece, enhancing its overall three-dimensional presence. The slender, needle-like habit typical of this locality contrasts with the stockier, geode-grown amethyst more commonly seen from Brazil or Uruguay, giving this specimen a more sculptural, elegant quality.

The piece comes from Piedra Parada, in the Tatatila Municipality of Veracruz, Mexico — the correct and scientifically accepted name for the locality, even though material from this area is still frequently and incorrectly sold under the name 'Las Vigas', which is actually only the name of a nearby town. Large-scale production from this historic site has declined markedly since the late 1990s, as the more accessible surface veins became exhausted; today extraction continues only on a small, artisanal scale, which has increased both the rarity and the desirability of well-formed pieces like this one on the collector market.

An elegant, naturally formed specimen suited both for a serious systematic mineral collection and as a refined decorative object for sophisticated interiors.
