This specimen showcases a fine cluster of lustrous green adamite crystals emerging from a richly colored, reddish-brown gossan matrix — one of the classic color combinations that has made adamite from the Ojuela Mine famous among collectors worldwide. Numerous small crystals surround several larger, well-formed prismatic individuals that dominate the center of the piece, giving the specimen excellent visual balance and a strong three-dimensional presence.

The intense green hue is typical of cuprian adamite, a variety in which trace amounts of copper substitute into the crystal structure and produce the vivid coloration that distinguishes Mapimí material from the more common yellow adamite found at other localities. The sharp contrast between the bright green crystals and the warm reddish matrix gives the piece a bold, eye-catching aesthetic that is highly sought after in both natural and ultraviolet light.

Under ultraviolet light the adamite crystals respond with an intense green fluorescence, a well-documented feature of material from this locality. This adds a further dimension of interest for collectors of fluorescent minerals, alongside the piece's natural visual beauty.

The Ojuela Mine, located near the town of Mapimí in Durango, Mexico, is considered one of the world's most important mineral specimen localities, having produced some of the finest adamite ever found. Large-scale commercial mining at Ojuela ceased in the mid-20th century, and today good specimens are recovered only sporadically through small-scale collecting activity, adding to the long-term appeal and collectibility of pieces such as this one.
